Historic Preservation

As one of the three main initiatives of DAR, historic preservation has always been a priority for our chapter. We recognize these efforts are crucial to help preserve our cultural heritage for future generations.  

Before historical societies were formed in our community, our chapter erected local historical markers, participated in honoring the founder of Durham, and assembled many collections of genealogical value.  Today we continue to focus on the value of history through many of our activities and programs.
